School District of Philadelphia
The J. Hampton Moore Elementary School in the Northeast opened a new $6.8 million primary center in April. The addition to the 56-year-old building has eight kindergarten and four first-grade classrooms, each 900 square feet with its own bathrooms. The addition, part of the district's campaign to improve school facilities, has a cafetorium, a warming kitchen, and offices. An outdoor kindergarten play space was also part of the project. The addition replaces four schoolyard trailers. Moore has 1000 students in K-5.
