And why is it that they’re doing all this auditing?

Visitors to the School District website this spring had an opportunity to peruse some lengthy and comprehensive District budget documents online. In the District's 2007-08 budget book, this brief, to-the-point description of the purpose of the Auditing Services Department caught the eye of one of our readers.

In May, the document was replaced by a later version, and this page was updated, clarifying that it is actually "assets" that the department is concerned about safeguarding.
